In short
- What is the occasion?
- The company announces a new product, a new series or a start of production. New products need new parts, new tools and new capacity before the first unit is sold.
- Why call now?
- Between announcement and series there are months in which tools are built, suppliers sampled and fixtures procured. Whoever reads the announcement calls before the parts list is awarded.
- How does Kodo spot it?
- Press release, Product page, Trade fair preview, Jobs in design and production.
The timing.
Every occasion has a window. Before it, nothing is visible; after it, the order is placed. Kodo delivers while the window is open.
- 1 Announcement Press release, product page "New", trade fair preview.
- 2 Development Design finished, tools and supplied parts are being requested.
- 3 Monday list Kodo puts the company on the list with the announcement and the quote.
- 4 Start of production The supply chain is set. From here on, only reorders.
How Kodo spots the occasion.
Public sources only, each with a date. What Kodo cannot back up word for word is not on the list.
- 01Press release"From spring we will produce ...", "new series", "start of production".
- 02Product pageNew products with date, data sheet and pictures of the parts.
- 03Trade fair previewExhibitors announce their new products for the fair.
- 04Jobs in design and productionDesign engineers and setters for a new line.
- 05Typical in toolingBetween product announcement and tool award there are often only weeks: the date on the line decides.
How it appears on the list.
One line of the Monday list: company, occasion, the quote from the source, the check, the contact person.
How your sales team opens.
The first sentence starts with the source, not with your product. Two examples for this occasion:
"You are launching a new series in spring. Have the housing parts been awarded yet?"
"About the announced start of production: who builds your tools for the 2K parts?"
Wendtland Kunststoffteile GmbH New product
"Our new housing programme for charging infrastructure starts in the second quarter of 2027."

What people ask first.
How early does Kodo spot a product launch?
As soon as the company makes it public: in the press release, on the product page, in the trade fair preview. That is usually months before the start of production.
What if the new product has nothing to do with my parts?
Kodo matches the product against your processes and materials. A software launch does not make the list of a tool maker.
How do I know whether the tool has already been awarded?
You do not, until you call. Kodo shows how fresh the announcement is; the fresher, the more likely the award is still open.
