Independent Software Comparison
Echobot
vs.
Dealfront

This is not a comparison, it is a rename

Echobot of Karlsruhe and Leadfeeder of Finland merged into Dealfront in 2023. Weighing the two against each other means weighing one company against itself. The real question is what stayed and what got added.

The short answer

You searched for Echobot and landed on Dealfront.

You are in the right place

Echobot merged with Leadfeeder into Dealfront in 2023. The German company data from Karlsruhe remained the core of today's product.

You are an existing Echobot customer wondering what you gained.

Visitor identification

The Leadfeeder half shows which companies visited your website. Echobot alone never had that.

You need solid data on German companies: legal form, register, accounts.

Dealfront

That is the strength inherited from Echobot, and it is hard to replace in the German market.

You need the concrete trigger explaining why a company would buy right now.

That gap remains

Trigger events come from press portals. What a company publishes only on its own site is not in there.

Direct Feature Comparison

Strengths and weaknesses based on real user experiences and data architectures.

Echobot

The Karlsruhe provider, founded in 2011, was for over a decade the first address for German company data from official sources. As a standalone product it no longer exists since 2023.

The greatest strengths

German register data at a depth no international vendor has rebuilt. That is the part that lives on.
Trigger events from German-language press, long before other vendors discovered the topic.
Data protection designed around German law from the start, not retrofitted.
German-speaking support with a real feel for the local mid-market.

The weaknesses

No longer available as its own product. Searching for Echobot today means buying Dealfront.
No website visitor identification, that only arrived with the merger.
Coverage outside the DACH region was always thin.
Old contracts and pricing were folded into the new structure, so a direct price comparison to before is no longer possible.

Dealfront

The result of the merger. German company data from Karlsruhe plus visitor identification from Finland, under one roof and one interface.

The greatest strengths

The German register data stayed and continues to be maintained.
Newly added: which companies visited your website, even without a form.
Processing inside the EU, which shortens procurement review.
One account instead of two contracts, if you previously bought both products separately.
Broader European coverage than Echobot alone.

The weaknesses

Modular. What former Echobot customers took for granted can now be a separate block.
Mobile numbers remain the weaker side, Cognism leads there.
Visitor identification works at company level only, and only when the network can be attributed. Usually not for home offices.
    Price on request, as before.

In-depth market analysis: Who is suitable for what?

What actually happened in 2023

Echobot in Karlsruhe and Leadfeeder in Espoo were two companies with two very different starting points. Echobot came from official data: commercial register, federal gazette, ownership, press. Leadfeeder came from website traffic: which company visited your site today, and which pages they read.

The two datasets complement each other because they answer different questions. One tells you who a company IS. The other tells you who is INTERESTED in you. Combined, that gives a list of companies that both fit and have already shown attention.

What stayed the same for former Echobot customers

The core. The German register data is the reason the German mid-market is more completely represented in this product than with an American vendor. A company with 180 employees, no active online self-presentation and no LinkedIn presence for its management, exists completely in the registers. In a people-first database it often exists only as a fragment.

That lead cannot be closed with more money, only with years of work on hard-to-reach sources. Which is exactly why Echobot was a worthwhile acquisition target.

What is new

Visitor identification. It solves a problem company data alone cannot: out of all the companies matching your profile, which one is thinking about you right now. A visit to your pricing page is a different signal than a match on an industry code.

Know the limits. Attribution happens through the visitor's network. For a corporate, a public body or a larger mid-sized firm with its own connection, it works well. For someone browsing from home on a private line, it does not. So do not expect to see all visitors, expect a slice.

And what is still missing after the merger

The trigger. Together, both halves answer very well WHO a company is and WHETHER it has shown attention. What they answer only partly: WHY this company would buy right now.

Trigger events come from press portals. That captures what makes it into the press: larger funding rounds, acquisitions, leadership changes. What it does not capture is the larger share: the new plant on the company's own news page, the freshly posted role for a maintenance manager, the new certification, the investment reported by the local paper.

Anyone searching for Echobot is usually searching for German company data, and Dealfront delivers that. Anyone searching for the trigger is searching for a different kind of tool.

The Third Option

Neither Echobot nor Dealfront fit?

Kodo Leads picks up exactly where press triggers stop. For a manageable number of companies we read the company's own news page, its job postings, the commercial register, the federal gazette and official notices. Behind every statement sits the link it came from.

The trigger with a date and a source, not just the company.
Including what appears only on the company's own site and never reaches a press portal.
Financials from the federal gazette and company register, with the year and source on every figure.
Contacts with role and verified address, separated into evidenced and inferred.
Billed per delivered contact, no annual contract with per-seat fees.
Complements Dealfront rather than replacing it: register data there, the trigger here.
