What is Product Intelligence?
Product Intelligence is a fully automated competitor analysis at the product level. You enter a product URL and receive a report with all relevant competitors, their product positioning, patent portfolio, and buy-fit score. Kodo combines AI analysis, targeted Google searches, and the European patent database EPO into a unified intelligence report.
How does Kodo find competitors?
Kodo first analyzes the entered product URL to understand the product semantically. Then, the AI performs hundreds of targeted data queries across distributed sources and simultaneously searches the EPO patent database Espacenet for companies with similar patent applications. The result is a comprehensive competitor list that goes beyond simple Google searches.
What data does a competitor report contain?
Each competitor in the report receives a full profile: company size and description, product portfolio and positioning, patent portfolio with number and type of intellectual property rights, buy-fit score (0–100), and direct contact details. Additionally, the report contains an overall assessment of competitor intensity in the market.
How are patents analyzed?
Kodo accesses the European patent database via the official EPO Espacenet OPS API. For each competitor found, the full patent portfolio is retrieved: number of patents, technical classifications (IPC codes), and filing years. This allows you to see at a glance who is actively protecting which technology areas and how innovative the competitors are.
How long does a Product Intelligence report take?
A full Product Intelligence report with 30 or more competitors is typically ready in 15 to 20 minutes. The duration depends on the number of competitors found and the depth of the analysis. You will be notified as soon as your report is ready — no manual waiting required.
